History

1981: the regular visits started. Preceding those were the initiatives from Dieter Wehnert, vice headmaster of the Friesenried school, and Ron Nash from North Walsham. Since then, the two towns take turns in visiting each other: one year, a group from North Walsham comes to Friesenried, while the following year, a group from Friesenried visits North Walsham. Each time, there are between 30 and 50 participants. The first trips were made by bus and ferry, the train was also taken twice, and today we fly and then hire a coach.
